I thought I felt your fingertips lightly trace the small of my back,
And I thought I smelled your skin and clothes in the stillness of the air.
I ran into the swaying moors when I thought I heard your voice,
But no matter how far or fast I ran, I could not find you there.
That sweet lullaby you loved to sing echoed in my mind,
As I thought of all the nights of warmth followed by days of snow.
And I fall to my knees to pray above that I find you again my love,
For wherever you are, I cry out, there my heart must also go.
